The company, founded in Paris in 1878, has been handed down from generation to generation since Jules Pansu.
The factory has been designing and manufacturing wall tapestries since its very beginnings. The factory is located in Halluin, in northern France’s Flanders region.
Today, it’s a story that continues in its know-how and innovation, always in the tradition of French tapestry.
The Tissages de La Lys factory has become a benchmark for“Made in France” tapestry. In 2012, Pansu was awarded the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant – Living Heritage Company) label, thanks not only to its team of highly skilled designers and weavers, but also to the know-how passed on by its craftsmen. This know-how has led to two of the factory’s workers being awarded the“Meilleurs ouvriers de France” medal.
More than 125 years after its creation, the Atelier Pansu continues to work on real Jacquard looms, still aiming to offer the masterpieces that have decorated French history for decades, while also offering their own, more modern creations, but always with the same unrivalled expertise…
