Very large horizontal tapestry
The “Four Seasons” tapestry is by Jean-Baptiste Oudry (1686-1755). It is a continuation of the “spring – summer” and “autumn – winter” tapestries. Eighteenth-century upholsterers were inspired by painters, who were themselves triumphant at the time. They sought to interpret paintings as closely as possible from cartoons.
This tapestry, woven on a Jacquard loom, is delivered lined and ready to hang on the wall. A certificate of authenticity is affixed to the back, a guarantee of quality and French craftsmanship.
