At the beginning of the 17th century, the considerable development of new sciences such as botany led to the appearance in Brussels workshops of large tapestries known as“verdures”, where luxuriant flora unfolded with a profound sense of perspective.
Like all our tapestries, the “La forêt de Clairmarais” tapestry is delivered lined and ready to hang. A certificate of authenticity is affixed to the back of the tapestry. A guarantee of quality, this certificate indicates the weaving point and the title of the work.
