It was inspired by Italian scenes by Jules Vernet (1714-1789). It was woven in Loiselles stitch on a Jacquard loom at the Jules Pansu factory in northern France in the 1980s. This tapestry is therefore a second-hand tapestry in good condition. It is no longer woven in the factory.
