This tapestry is now on display at the Musée du Louvre in Paris. It was woven for Archduke Maximilian, later Emperor Maximilian II, from cartoons by Pieter Cooecke of Aalst and Frans Borremans of Brussels. It depicts Maximilian hunting in the middle of March. It is part of a series of 12 tapestries, showing views of Brussels and the Forêt de Soignes. A red horseman, representing Emperor Charles V, can be seen. In the background, on the left, the ducal palace, burnt down in 1731, and the town hall tower. On the right, the church of Sainte Gudule, now Saint-Michel Cathedral.
