Tapestry Scène galante “second hand
This tapestry is woven from an early 15th-century hanging. It shows a lady receiving a casket from her page, set against a backdrop of foliage and flowers, with a couple walking towards the lady and page. All the characters are dressed in Italian style, a fashion introduced in France after Charles VIII conquered Naples in 1495. This tapestry was woven on a Jacquard loom in 1983 in a factory in northern France. It belongs to a private individual who wishes to sell it. It is in very good condition. Lined tapestry with Certificate of Authenticity. Ready to hang.
