At the end of the 16th century, after the Italian wars, the Renaissance revolutionized the art of tapestry. The combination of painting and tapestry became a new aesthetic art form. The austerity of the medieval period was succeeded by the Italian influence that is clearly evident in this “Return from the Hunt”. A lord returns to his estate, which can be seen in the distance, accompanied by his hunters: a sense of composition, decor and perspective, with a border of fruit, flowers and birds… This painting perfectly reflects the Renaissance period.
Each tapestry is delivered lined and ready to hang, with a Certificate of Authenticity on the back. Tapestry woven in northern France on Jacquard looms.
