François Boucher (French painter, 1703 – 1770) is best known for his pastoral and mythological scenes painted in the Rococo style. His sensual works often depict an idyllic world. Here, he illustrates a hunting and fishing scene. In 1765, he was appointed Premier Peintre de Louis XV.
