Bayeux” tapestry collection
This tapestry represents a detail from the famous Bayeux tapestry. In this scene, Harold, accompanied by his pack, heads for Normandy. His journey, commissioned by the King of England, is intended to announce to William that he has been named successor to the English throne. This tapestry was woven in a workshop in northern France on a Jacquard loom. It is lined and equipped with a hanging system. A certificate of authenticity, certifying the origin and type of weaving, is affixed to the back of the tapestry.
