Gallant Scenes, a tapestry woven after an early 15th-century hanging. It depicts a lady receiving a casket from her page, amidst foliage and flowers, where a couple approaches the lady and the page. All the figures are dressed in the Italian style, a fashion introduced to France after the conquest of Naples by Charles VIII in 1495.<\/p>\n
This tapestry was woven in a workshop in Northern France on a Jacquard loom. It is lined and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.<\/p>\n
This tapestry hung in a dining room for several years. It is very old (over 25 years). The colors are still very vibrant. However, the tapestry shows some signs of wear (a few broken threads).
