This historic Angers tapestry was made in 14th-century Paris by Nicolas Bataille’s workshops, following a commission from Duke Louis I of Anjou.<\/p>\n

The Apocalypse Tapestry, also known as the Angers Apocalypse<\/h2>\n

The Apocalypse Tapestry, also known as the Angers Apocalypse, originally measured 147 meters, but after a long and arduous journey, only around 100 meters remain, and can be seen at the Ch\u00e2teau d’Angers. It is made up of six rooms, each 4.50 meters high and covering an area of 850 m2, divided into fourteen tableaux. Its name is inspired by the tragedies of the time, with a biblical meaning, referring in particular to the Apocalypse of John. At the time, this art reflected a kind of caricature of social and political life, as well as battles against the English. Tapisseries de Flandres offers reproductions of this unique work.
